Dur Hospitality participated in the graduation ceremony held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel to honour the first intake of students who enrolled in the “Tahseen” program, a unique hospitality leadership training program which aims at supporting and developing local Saudi talent and attracting qualified individuals to work in the hospitality industry.
Remarking on this occasion, Dr. Al-Badr confirmed that Dur’s support as the gold sponsor for this initiative is an extension of the company’s ongoing contributions to the qualification and employment of national experiences in the hospitality sector. The company aims at meeting the aspirations of the Saudi youth and supporting the fast growth expected for the Saudi hospitality sector during the coming years in accordance with the Kingdom’s vision 2030. He stressed that Dur’s strategy focuses on attracting qualified Saudi cadres to work in the hospitality industry.
In addition, he highlighted that “Dur Hospitality is looking forward to facilitating the role of the Saudi youth in the hospitality sector”, pointing out that 70% of the new employees at Dur Hospitality company are Saudis. He added, “Our goal is to train and develop human cadres and provide them with the necessary practical expertise that enhances their involvement in this field".
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Kyriakidis said, “Marriott International is a company that believes in putting people first and we are committed to giving our associates world class training and the opportunity to grow and reach their potential, both personally and professionally. Our vision is to develop future Saudi leaders, empowered with the knowledge, skills and opportunities to be successful and provide them with a fast track to management roles such as general managers. Building a sustainable and robust hospitality education program like Tahseen for our Saudi nationals, that nurtures and builds talent amongst the youth, is indeed key to our success.”
“Tahseen” is a training program created by Marriott International Group in collaboration with Cornell University and Injaz Al-Arab Foundation. It aims to enhance the career of the next generation of Saudi leaders in the hospitality industry. The “Tahseen” Program provides a qualitative shift in the concept of hospitality industry among Arab youth. It also offers graduates 12 to 18 months of cross-exposure to all the hotel departments.
