Makarem Hotels, a subsidiary of Dur Hospitality specialized in serving the holy cities of Saudi Arabia, recently announced signing a new agreement with Mr. Abed Al Qurashi to operate the “Makarem Jabal Al Kaabah Makkah”, a five-star hotel currently under construction.
Through managing the new hotel, Makarem aims to execute its expansion plan in the western area to operate 10,000 rooms and thus contribute to the Vision 2030 objectives of increasing the annual number of umrah visitors from 8 million to 30 million.
The new 20-level hotel will include 416 luxury rooms overlooking the Great Mosque in Makkah, a spacious dining hall with the capacity for 200 people, 3 meeting rooms, a parking space and a wide array of unique luxury services.
Commenting on this project, Badr Al Badr, CEO of Dur Hospitality, stated that the new hotel set to open in 2020 supports Makarem’s expansion plans in the holy cities and aims to present remarkable state-of-the-art offerings to religious tourists. He mentioned that this hotel comes in support of Makarem’s efforts in presenting world-class hotel services that represent Saudi hospitality and will position the company as a leading Saudi brand in the sector on local and global levels.
Al Badr also expressed his confidence that the hotel will become a popular choice among religious tourists visiting the Kingdom from all around the world due to its central location and high quality services.
Hassan Ahdab, President of Hotel Operations at Dur Hospitality said the new hotel will present guests with utmost convenience and comfort, through its close proximity to the Great Mosque located only 800m away, in addition to its spectacular views. He added that it will be equipped with the latest technologies to offer guests an enhanced hotel experience.
He also mentioned that the growth of religious tourism in the Kingdom resulted in an increased demand for hotel services, which gives Makarem an important role especially following its launch of ‘Karam Club’ tailored for Umrah visitors in the second quarter of 2018.
Furthermore, Abed Al Qurashi also stated that the hotel opening in 2020 will present a new concept with world-class standards within a local atmosphere. He praised Dur Hospitality’s experience in the Kingdom’s tourism sector especially religious tourism, which has encouraged working alongside Dur to present globally-competitive services that fulfil the needs of travelers.”
The new hotel comes as part of Makarem’s expansion plans aiming to enrich the hospitality sector in the holy cities of Saudi Arabia. It will be strategically located in the Jabal Al Kaabah area to the north-west of the Great Mosque of Makkah in Harat Al-Bab area, one of the closest neighborhoods to the Mosque.
